it’s the lack that I still love
the space between the punch and the pain that comes
Making a statement like “thin people can’t be offended by Nicki’s statements because they have….PRIVILEGE” is amazing to me because um….claiming that one body type isn’t welcome/not as attractive/etc. is body shaming and fuck I don’t even really care about these social buzzword issues honestly and pop music shouldn’t be taken to a level where you analyze the shit out of it to fit your agenda it’s just fucking millennial bullshit that people flock to because they read about it on Twitter and it just seemed convenient to be really ignorant.
Also Anaconda is actually a really bad song. Like. Bad for NICKI. The instrumental is lazy, the concept is lazy, her rapping is lazy. Is this shit what passes for edgy and groundbreaking these days? I mean, Taylor Swift’s new song isn’t amazing either or anything but the song is much better produced for example…yeah well I know I’m probably leading myself into the statement “you’re just threatened by a powerful woman (who’s black) so Anaconda is bad to you and Taylor Swift (white) is harmless !!!!!”
Go fuck yourself into a giant hole I hate this site
“I’m a fan of his and I think he’s a really interesting artist. (I posted a Vine to one of his tracks once.) But he stated clearly that he hadn’t seen the video and didn’t even intend to watch it. So, respectfully, that sort of invalidates his observations from the get-go. And it’s this one uninformed tweet that got reported on and rehashed, which started this whole “controversy.” We simply choose styles of dance that we thought would be popular and amusing and cast the best dancers that were presented to us without much regard to race or ethnicity. If you look at it carefully, it’s a massively inclusive piece. It’s very, very innocently and positively intentioned. And — let’s remember — it’s a satirical piece. It’s playing with a whole range of music-video tropes and clichés and stereotypes.”
Mark Romanek, music video director, responding to rapper Earl Sweatshirt’s comments about the “Shake it Off” video……
This should mark the final conclusion of that narrative. Taylor should not even dignify anyone’s bait question about it. Just refer to this quote. It cannot be topped.
